The Regional Library of Neubrandenburg

The regional library is a public municipal library maintained by the City of Neubrandenburg and fulfils its mission as place of education, information, culture and communication.

From its history as former city and district library (1965-1990) there results a regional unique supply for library inventory and service. This guarantees the basic services with media and information as well as the media and information demand of the key city Neubrandenburg and the region Mecklenburg Lake District. The library offers 135,000 actual media for lending, a modern information service and with its collections a regional remarkable fund of historical literature of five centuries.

In the Region Library you can find the place of business for the Annelise-Wagner-Foundation. This trust foundation of Neubrandenburg yearly awards a regional literature prize which is named the Annelise-Wagner-Prize.

During its opening hours guests and locals can use the internet of the library in return for a service charge.
